Guidelines

Huronia Hash House Harriers (HHHH)

Plan and Guidelines (July 2023)

Run Dates

1.  Runs will start again July 31, 2023.

2.  The July, Aug, Sept and Oct 2023 runs will be held once per month on a Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 (1 hour run/ 1 hour social).

3. The Nov 2023, Jan and Feb 2024 runs will be held once per month and will switch over to Sundays from 1:00 to 3:00 (1 hour run/ 1 hour social).

4. There is no formal run in Dec 2023 but instead there will be a Xmas party on Dec 9/23.  Details to follow.

5.  Starting March 2024 (when the clocks change) runs will switch over from one run per month to two runs per month (second and forth Monday 6:00 to 8:00 pm).

6. Every effort has been made to avoid Pursuits meetings and holidays.

Role of the Host

1. To host the run by determining the run location and type of food or snacks for the after run social.

2. To let Stewart Young know that you intend to host on a certain date.  It would be great (not mandatory) if runners could choose a date at least 2 months in advance during the winter months so everyone knows if there is a run.

Please Note:  There will be no run on dates where a host has not been confirmed.

Food and Locations

1.  The host for each Harriers run will decide what happens related to food or snacks served at the 1 hour social.

2. The host can decide to serve things like simple finger foods, bagged snacks, pizza, light meal, heavy meal or request that everyone go to a restaurant, pub or bar.  Hosts are under no pressure or obligation to follow the simplicity or complexity of food served in the past.  Runs are about having fun and social.  Hosts should choose snack or food options based on their comfort level, house size and time available.

3. Cost per person to runners if the host orders or serves the following:

*  Snacks $5 pp per run

*  Meal $10 pp per run

The host will be reimbursed for their costs and the remainder will be put towards the Harrier Christmas party.

If the host decides the social will be held at a restaurant, pub or bar the. Each runner pays their own bill.

Communication

1. An application called Team Reach is now being used as the primary communication tool.  Any known previous and new HHHH members are being added to the database.

2. Members will need to install and use the app for all future communications.  Code name is HashHouse.

3. Members will need to click on the small Settings wheel (top right of screen) and update their AKA Harrier Name and turn on Push Notifications and Email Notifications.

4. Information related to each run is stored in Team Reach.  An email reminder will be sent to everyone two days in advance of a run.

5.  Runners should go into Team Reach minimum of 2 days in advance of each run to confirm their attendance so the host can accurately plan. To confirm your attendance  tap on the run date and once the second page is presented follow the prompts.  Runners can also see the host name, address, phone number, food  and cost.
